Leaving these surfaces as they are would cause overlays to fail, crack, or blister due to trapped moisture. That’s why our preparation is incredibly thorough. Backed by dust-controlled industrial equipment, we grind, consolidate, and level these complicated substrates, converting uneven and high-moisture subfloors into a perfectly flat, secure, and moisture-proof foundation for a modern seamless resin or microcement finish.

This aged, red-tinted square quarry tile floor is the perfect candidate for our advanced subfloor preparation. Because older tiled surfaces can be uneven and prone to shifting, we take meticulous steps to prepare the substrate.
Using mechanical diamond grinding to remove old contaminants and create a textured mechanical key (CSP 2–3 profile), followed by crack-stitching and a robust epoxy primer, we ensure your new seamless resin or microcement floor has a flat, durable, and reliable foundation for decades to come.

What a difference! We replaced uneven, worn-out traditional flooring with this modern, high-performance flake resin system. It features an intricate, slip-resistant decorative flake blend in tones of black, gray, and white, sealed with an ultra-tough, light-reflective glaze.
To elevate hygiene and durability, we installed matching coved skirting around the perimeter. This creates a continuous, unbroken barrier between floor and wall—ideal for environments demanding the highest standards of cleanliness and impact resistance.

Understanding the Challenge: Bitumen & Adhesive Residue Preparation
Meticulous preparation is the most critical stage of any long-lasting floor installation. This residential room was stripped back to reveal a challenging concrete subfloor heavily contaminated with decades-old black bitumen, tar, and stubborn adhesive residue—a common issue when old carpets or vinyl are removed in UK properties.
Installing a resin overlay directly over this patchy residue guarantees failure, as it prevents bonding and causes delamination. We use dust-controlled mechanical diamond grinding to aggressively strip away the contaminated surface, exposing clean concrete. After grinding, we repair trenches and hairline cracks with high-strength structural mortars, followed by a liquid DPM moisture barrier to build a flat, fully isolated foundation.

Before any seamless resin or microcement installation begins, success rests on subfloor integrity. This industrial-scale interior featured a heavily worn, unfinished concrete slab scarred by years of traffic, staining, and surface scuffs.
Applying an overlay directly would cause poor adhesion, pinholing, and reflective cracking. Our team carried out extensive, dust-controlled mechanical diamond grinding, followed by joint bridging, stress-crack stitching, and an industrial epoxy DPM to engineer a perfectly flat, heavy-load-ready substrate.

The Pour: Crafting a High-Gloss Seamless Resin Worktop
Seamless luxury is all in the detail, planning, and meticulous installation. This transformation shows our team in the final, active stage of pouring and leveling a bespoke, high-gloss black resin overlay onto an extensive kitchen worktop and breakfast bar.
To achieve a completely smooth, mirror-like finish that stretches continuously through the space, we first reinforce, flatten, and prime the substrate. Because our liquid resin is self-leveling and poured on-site, it requires expert hands to guide, bubble-bust, and trowel it over the edges to create a solid, monolithic block effect.
Protection is a vital part of our workflow—we wrap the entire base, cabinets, and surrounding floor in heavy-duty shielding to capture runaway resin. Once cured, the masking is stripped away, and we apply an ultra-hard, scratch-resistant, UV-stable topcoat that is non-porous and effortlessly hygienic.
